No access via browser

Modified on Wed, 3 Jul at 7:59 PM

You have successfully configured WebDAV in formcycle and can transfer files in the workflow. However, when accessing the files, you receive the error message "Forbidden" or similar. It is important to know that the complete URL to the file must always be entered when accessing via a browser!

Example
If you want to access the file "test.pdf" in the folder "home/testuser/testfolder", you must enter the following in the browser:

https://your_WebDAV_Server/home/testuser/Testfolder/test.pdf (the file is shown)

However, if you only enter "https://your_WebDAV_Server/home/testuser/Testfolder", you will receive the message "Forbidden".

WebDAV does not have a search or listing function, as is familiar from FTP, for example. If you want to see the entire structure of the WebDAV directory and work like in a file explorer, you either need a WebDAV client or you establish the connection via the Windows File Explorer or, in the case of Apple, via the Finder.
