Creating a copy of a form with the new workflow engine

The   icon can be used to create a copy of the form using the new workflow.

When a form still uses the old workflow engine, a workflow icon ( ) shows up in the bottom right corner of the form card (when viewing forms as cards) or to the right of the form row (when viewing forms as a list). Click on that icon to create a copy of the form that uses the new workflow engine.

Version 7 of FORMCYCLE introduces a new and completely redesigned workflow engine that offers many new possibilities. If you wish, you can keep using the old workflow engine for now, but support for it may be terminated in a future  version of FORMCYCLE. Converting an old workflow configuration to the new workflow is not supported for now. The new workflow employs a new concept for how and when actions are run. Instead of coupling actions to a certain state, as the old workflow did, the new workflow engine lets you react to any event that takes place during the lifecycle of a form, such as when a form is submitted or a double opt-in was performed. You can then configure and run the appropriate actions for that event occurs. To obtain a workflow that is efficient and easy to understand, you need to redesign the workflow configuration with the features offered by the new workflow engine.

To ease the transition from the old workflow to the new workflow engine, you can create a copy of the form by clicking on the workflow icon ( ). When you do so, all settings of this form are copied, except for the workflow configuration (form elements, form files, access settings, inbox and data table settings). Instead of the old workflow, this new form will have an empty workflow configuration for the new workflow engine, allowing you to redesign the workflow from scratch. You could also open the old workflow configuration from this form in another browser
tab or window and use it as a reference when you redesign the workflow.

Please note: The double opt-in configuration will not be copied. There is no more global double opt-in configuration for the new workflow. To perform a double opt-in, the new workflow engine offers a special double opt-in action that you can use to initiate the double opt-in process. Drag & drop that action to the workflow processing chain of the submit button that should initiate the double opt-in.
